  1. Hello friends!

What comes to mind when you think of gratitude?

Was it easy or hard to find things to be grateful for?

    Let’s share.

    Shereece

    • When I think of gratitude, the first thing that comes to mind is being thankful and acknowledging god’s blessings. There was a time in my life, I was so self consumed and pondered on all the things I didn’t like and everything that was wrong in my life. What I wasn’t doing was acknowledging that god woke me up and with that blessing I had the ability to change my circumstances. I was an abled body, with all my limbs, and all my senses. I had a roof over my head, and i could pay my bills. I had to stop the “poor me syndrome” and acknowledge god grace. As long as I am blessed to wake up…. I’m thankful that I can see the light and continue to lead in love first!

      • Nicole, I love how you said “acknowledging God’s blessings”. I think that’s the key to maintaining gratefulness in our lives. When we realize and acknowledge that everything we are, everything that we are able to do are blessings from God. It’s not the are so good or so smart, it’s God’s work in our lives. Thanks for commenting Nicole!

  2. When I think about gratitude I think about being thankful, about appreciation, and joy. I really like the word gratefulness. Most people will use gratitude instead of gratefulness, but I like it because it says to me that you’re full of gratitude and that hits a little different.

For me it is easy to find things to be grateful for. I literally have an entire house full of “stuff” that makes my life easier or more comfortable. I also have a small group of people
who love me and care that I’m still around. I have Sisters who stand behind me and encourage me. I’m so grateful for all of these things.

I know that this may not be the case for everyone, and that reminds me to take nothing for granted. Not even the bottle of lotion sitting on my night stand that keeps me from going to work ashy. God is so good and I thank Him for the small things as well as the big ones.

  3. Gratitude or thankfulness for me is acknowledging all the good things God has done in my life – how He’s helped me navigate life’s challenges, how He’s guided me and allowed me to celebrate answered prayers. Seeing His hand in all of little details of my life makes me so grateful- full of gratitude. Just capturing my thoughts about God’s goodness evokes emotions of gratitude and deep love for God.

  4. I’m grateful God has blessed me with good health. I’m thankful for my social tennis group as part of a senior group program at CSDH where we meet twice a week for fun activities and tennis. I’m grateful for the ability to run on the court and enjoy it

  5. I love to journal – capture my thoughts in a particular season. It’s nice to revisit my journal entries, reminisce over that season and appreciate my current season. Journaling is a great way to recall your victories- to remember the small and large victories, a great way to develop a grateful heart!

  6. I’m very grateful especially when I reflect back over my life. I realize all the hurdles I over came was not of my own strength but that of the Lord. It gives me great hope toward the future. Grateful to be grateful.

  7. I am a little late as it is later in the week but I am grateful that I have time out the day from my work schedule to actually take time to better myself sometimes I tend to put to much pressure on myself instead of relaxing and see what all amazing thing life has to offer that are right in front of me

  8. When I think of gratitude my mind goes to somebody doing something for me and I’m grateful for that person or what the have done but wringing down these ten things helps me realize gratitude can be shown in many forms other that from person to person, like my 10th thing that I am grateful for is to be able to be grateful and see the bright side of situations because I know that I have my days where I let my problems get the best of me and I am mad at everything and that just frustrates me more because I just want to be happy all the time so being able to see the light that God has blessed me with is so much power in my eyes

    • Kaylah,
You are such a wonderful person and I’m so proud of you. You don’t let life get you down. You keep moving forward in spite of any obstacle. You are a person of strength and I admire you so much. Keep pushing forward and keep your head held high. You got this. And know, I am always here for you.
      Love you so much.

  9. If we are not in the habit of writing, it can be quite a challenge.

Did you find it difficult to sit down and write?

Was it more or less difficult getting to 10 things today?

How will you incorporate daily gratitude journaling going forward?

    Shereece

  10. Wow! Beautiful concept to make us better as human beings and to leave an indelible mark on the world. Contemplating the value of this moment gives me great pause to reflect upon my assignment and purpose of my birth. I am indeed grateful for my parents for constant sacrifices to aid me in becoming the man I am today.

  11. Hello!

How did it go today saying, “thank you?”

Do you think thankfulness benefits overall mental health?

Why is it so powerful to constantly say, “Thank you,” to others?

    Shereece

    • Today’s challenge was both intriguing and satisfying. Intriguing because to some my thankfulness appeared disconcerting but personally it was rewarding being thankful for the Simplist acts of kindness.

  12. Today’s “Thank You” challenge was awesome – just what I needed today! It helped me keep my focus during frustrating encounters- changed the narrative to one of Thank You instead of frustration. Thank You LORD for giving me the ability to focus on You and to exercise gratitude in being Thankful. Thank You Shereece IsWinning – job well done creating this Gratitude Booster Challenge.

  13. GRATEFUL, I finally got into the blog. I am amazed at how a few days of focusing on being grateful has changed my stress level. I have a new found sense of calmness. So when situations arise, I can focus on what I am to learn so that I can become all that I am meant to be. I remember GOD uses challenges to help us rely on Him and his purposes. They are to teach us not hurt us.

  14. Day 4 already?

What does it mean that gratitude is a way of living as opposed to a one-time event?

What gratitude affirmations will you regularly recite?

    Shereece

  15. Great 5 day challenge. Each day offered life lessons to incorporate simple principles for a joyful, more meaningful and fulfilling life journey
